Hospital Redevelopment Plan - Summary of Key Changes

Bed increases: in Acute Inpatient Services and Complex Continuing Care to address future growth

Ambulantory Services: consolidate services and increase clinic space to accommodate future growth of existing and new clinics (e.g. Pulmonary Rehab Clinic, Chemotherapy, Chronic Disease Management Services, Secondary Stroke Prevention Clinic, Children’s Rehab, etc.)

Emergency Department: addition of 6-bed Clinical Decision Unit; increased space and re-organization of the department for appropriate patient flow and to meet infection control requirements

ICU: relocate next to E.R.

Surgical Services: provide 2 ORs and appropriate number of PACU and SDCU stretchers; allow for separate Endoscopy and Minor Procedures Suite

Cardiology/Electrophysiology Services: increase treatment and waiting spaces

Diagnostic Services: increase waiting, changing and storage spaces, decrease wait times in E.R.

Pharmacy: current department is undersized,; increase area to support Unit Dose distribution system
