Our capital proposal received approval and financing from the Ministry
Marc LeBoutillier

Last November, we submitted a fully revised redevelopment proposal including a 15-year financial plan. This submission is the first step in a three-phase process. At the same time, we embarked on a representation process engaging discussions with the LHIN (Local Health Integration Network) and political representatives. Subsequently, we initiated discussions with the Minister’s office with the assistance of our MLA, Mr. Jean-Marc Lalonde.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we welcomed the Minister at the Hospital last Saturday, May 31st, when he announced the Ministry’s approval of our project and a subsidy of $1 million to cover the second phase of planning. The next phase, Phase III, is the call for tenders.

The Ministry’s announcement comes after months of work and stakeholder engagement. My concluding remarks after the Minister’s announcement were as follows: « Mr. Minister, we are very grateful for the great news. This financial support is a major milestone towards the achievement of our project. We take your announcement as a show of confidence in our leadership, in our people and in our future. Mr. Minister in turn, we express our commitment to work with Ministry staff and the LHIN to achieve a project that will deliver quality care, accessible care and affordable care for the benefit of our community and the broader health care system. »
