The Ontario College of Family Physicians Names Eastern Region Family Physician of the Year
The Ontario College of Family Physicians, in conjunction with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, established The Family Physician of the Year Award to formally recognize the astounding work done on a daily basis by family doctors throughout the province. This year's recipients of The Family Physician of the Year Award were deemed to embody the four core principles of family medicine: a skilled clinician, community-based, resource to their practice populations, and, recognition of the central importance of the doctor/patient relationship.
Summary of Dr. Arnold's Contributions to Family Medicine:
- Regional Director, - Eastern Region, Ontario College of Family Physicians;
- Physician actively involved in the Primary Care Reform;
- Recipient of a clinical fellowship in the care of the elderly from McGill University;
- Medical Director of the Prescott-Russell Residence;
- Founder of the Hawkesbury Memory Disorder Clinic partnership program with the Alzheimer Society and Community Care Access Center (CCAC) of Eastern Ontario;
- Instrumental in establishing a respiratory, arthritis and diabetic clinic in Hawkesbury;
- Vice-President, Medical Staff, Hawkesbury & District General Hospital
- Physician presently developing a heart failure clinic with Home Care and the Ottawa Heart Institute.
The members of the extended HGH family are delighted to have one of their local physicians recognized for such an honor.
