A Board Award for Dr. Simon McCall

The Board of Directors recognized in March 2001, a doctor who has distinguished himself over the years by putting these values into practice: trust, respect, confidentiality, compassion and equity.

Through his 30 years of practice, Doctor McCall has acquired an outstanding reputation. This exceptional human being has unceasingly demonstrated his commitment to serving his community and has always placed the best interest of his patients and of the Hospital before his own.

Doctor McCall has fully integrated the values conveyed by the Board of Directors. This doctor exudes limitless confidence. He is level headed, attentive to his patients and lends them a sympathetic ear. Everybody would describe him as a compassionate person, respectful of others. The quality of care that everyone of his patients receives from him reflects his boundless professionalism. He is profoundly dedicated to the hospital's life and his record is impressive, his accomplishments, remarkable: Doctor Simon McCall started his career at the Smith Clinic in 1972. He was an active staff member with privileges in general practice, obstetrics and anesthesia until the Smith Clinic closed its doors in 1984.

He became a courtesy member of our hospital's medical staff in 1976 and became an active member in 1981, holding privileges in anesthesia, general practice and obstetrics. He held privileges in obstetrics for 18 years, from 1972 to 1990. From 1981 to 1986, he held the positions of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Medical Staff, and from 1987 to 1992, he was a member of the Ethics Committee.

In 1993, Doctor McCall accepted the huge responsibility of becoming Chief-of-Staff. During the six years he occupied that position, he managed the quality of care provided in our Hospital with a master hand.
