A Lot of Help from Friends

The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital had several reasons to celebrate when The Friends of the Hospital met recently to celebrate National Volunteers Week. The 100 volunteers who provide services to the hospital patients marked the occasion by making a formal presentation of a cheque in the amount of $25 000. The money will help with the development of Phase 2 of the Chemotherapy Program. When operational, this new program will allow hospital personnel to administer medication to patients with a more advanced form of cancer.

The Friends raises money through the sale of items at the hospital boutique and Nevada-style tickets.
