Our educational program is for individuals with cardiac problems and their families or for those who are at risk of developing cardiac problems. Under the direction of our cardiologist, our program is provided by a team of professionals, namely: a physician, nursing personnel, a pharmacist, a dietitian, a physiotherapist and a social worker.
Our program is divided into three sections and offered four weeks in a row on Friday mornings, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Our cardiologist provides a medical evaluation of your current condition.
Our prevention and education program is divided in 4 sessions:
Session 1. - The cardiologist and the nurse talk about heart disease, its causes and symptoms while the pharmacist explains the medication prescribed.
Session 2. - We identify the risk factors and discuss them with you.
Session 3. - Our dietitian explains how to gradually improve your nutrition while our educator discusses the type of physical activity you can do.
Session 4. - "Stress management" and "the impact of your disease on the family and the partner" are the subjects of this last session presented by our social worker.
