Ethics / Ethical Framework
Healthcare providers, support personnel and administrators face many ethical and moral dilemmas in the course of their work. A formal process for managing ethics-related issues and concerns has been established to facilitate the staff, physicians and volunteers in identifying, addressing and resolving ethical concerns. The diagram demonstrates the process and communication flow in respect to both clinical and non clinical ethical considerations. The use of an analytical tool in conjunction with the mission, vision, values, code of conduct, and other organizational policies will guide the organization’s respective members in ethical decision making.
This undertaking is to create an environment where open and informed discussions, reflections, and decision-making occurs based on the hospital’s values, mission, and vision; advancing the organizational ethical capacity, promoting accountability and ethical behavior by all representatives of the organization.
